let's walk on that moon. or dance.

Most of the girls in my sorority are unofficial groupies of the band, Walk The Moon. A senior was their manager for a few years before they signed with a bigger record company. We could say that she helped "discover them." Mainly because I think that makes us sound important.

Whenever the band comes into town, we always go. And it's not so much of a concert, as it is a private party for the lovely ladies of Alpha Phi, myself included. This past concert was no different. And, we all know that I love live music. They can rock out and it's always a good dance party. But, they also paint their faces! And so do we! I'm pretty sure I like them more just for this reason. Who doesn't want to paint their face and look tribal?

obsessed.

I want to be a hipster. So badly. I'll admit it. But, I'm pretty sure that the fact that I really want to be a hipster makes me automatically un-hipster-like.

No, matter, I can still pretend. The most hipster person I know right now (and I'm using the word know very loosely right now) is the rapper, Macklemore. He's pretty much the coolest person in my world right now, and he doesn't even know it. Total hipster move.

He's cool because: 1. he's a white rapper and 2. he wears weird clothes from thrift stores. I'm pretty sure we would be best friends because: 1. i love weird clothes from thrift stores and 2. i wish i was a white rapper. Enough said.

Macklemore puts his two cool factors together to create this awesome song. It's sweeping the nation. It just got big in Indiana, even though my people out West have known about it for months. And I mean, months.

Wait, stop. As I write this post, I have vague memories of posting another post about him. Oh, wait I did. Whoops. It's okay. Our relationship has progressed so much since last fall.

The big reasons why this is more important now is because I bought tickets to go see him in concert this past week. I'll be rocking some thrift store purchases and dancing my heart out up at Purdue at the end of March.

Also, a new blog I started following posted this today. Anyone in it with me? I think they're awesome. And that we would be best friends. Those two, Macklemore, and me. Besties for life. I can see it now.

heart problems.

I swear that all of the money that goes to Butler for my tuition should just go straight to paying for all of the medical bills that I'm going to have when I graduate from here with a messed up heart. Time after time, Butler Men's Basketball chooses to save the good stuff until the end. It's exciting and all, but it gives my heart palpitations (word choice!) every single game.

If you're not a big ESPN follower or sports fan in general, you may not have heard about the most recent episode that left Butler fans everywhere somehow out of breath and hoarse from yelling, all at the same time. Last Saturday was Butler Basketball at its finest. ESPN GameDay came to Hinkle Fieldhouse to film their broadcast, highlighting all of the history behind where the Bulldogs play. Students (that are not me because I like my sleep and like to be warmer than -5 degrees) waited outside starting at 4am to try to get their 15 minutes 3 seconds of fame on ESPN. It was worth it to be a part of the pep rally before the evening's big game.

Then came the primetime game versus the Gonzaga Bulldogs of the West Coast. Hinkle Fieldhouse was packed, over 10,500 fans and over capacity. And really, there is nothing like that place. It truly is magical. On this night, it was even more than usual. All of the fans were standing and cheering and the energy was alive.

And, in typical Butler fashion, we led for most of the 40 minutes. Until the one that counted: the last one. Gonzaga was up and there was less than ten seconds left. I was standing in the bleachers with my eyes closed, forcing myself to breathe. It's too much for me! And, hate to leave you hanging if you don't know the outcome, but here's a pretty sweet video that perfectly captures the moment of Hinkle Magic.

reflect & resolve.

I've never been big on making resolutions for the New Year. Somehow I just feel like I am setting myself up for failure...how am I ever supposed to keep something for a whole year!? My life changes so much in a year that I don't feel like anything will be the same and relevant 12 months after I decide on it. It's just the way it is. #collegeprobs

This fact that my life experiences so much change right now was even more true after I started reflecting on my past year. I made a TOP 10 MOMENTS of 2012 list, which was just as wonderful. Reflecting is good. More than anything this list made me realize that I am more blessed than I usually remember. The kind of opportunities and fun and new places I experienced last year and the amazing people that filled my life kind of make me speechless.

Anywho...(which is my new favorite word)...after my reflecting, I decided to make a list of my TOP 10 DREAMS of 2013 instead. Much better choice. Also, because I don't have to just pick one resolution, but can have 10 instead.

this relationship needs work.

For some reason, being at home in Colorado and writing don't go hand in hand. My blog and Fort Collins don't really like each other. It's not a good relationship. They try to stay away from each other as much as possible.

But, when I'm back at school in Indy, it's like a long lost love. I can't wait to get back to blogging fast enough.

So, in lieu of a long, long, long post that summarizes every single day of the three weeks I was at home, here's millions of pictures to fill up the space instead.

If a picture is worth a thousand words, then this is pretty much a novel. So, grab a cup of your beverage of choice and sit down for a nice long read.
